Construction survelors wood 3 legged tripod with mount. No optics, looks good. Please see the pictures, I can find no name on the wood legs or the mount, it does say JAPAN on the bottom plate of the mount. Looks to be in good condition, but I have no idea how many pieces are missing besides the optics. Everything moves very nicely. Big legs measure 32 inches, the inside legs are 31. Overall weight is 14 lbs out of the box. If someone knows where I can find the brand, please let me know and I will look. This appears to be a high quality product. When you look inside one of these instruments. They look like new. The seals were so good, I never see any moisture. The lubrication looks like new(whether it has been serviced or not) and the machining was so good. There is little if any wear on the metal parts and the EDM's have an excellent record of reliability. I still do a few jobs a year and I always keep one of these excellent Japanese Total Stations around for my own work. The difference between the Topcon GTS-301D and the GTS-301. Is the 301D has horizontal and vertical compensation while the 301 has vertical compensation only. If either the horizontal or vertical limit moves outside the compensation range. The instrument operator is alerted and given the oppurtunity to adjust level. The 301D is one of my favorite total stations for almost all surveying purposes. The 301D's accuracy.Versatility and long range EDM allow it to perform everything from routine topo& construction to high precision geodetic surveys. I used this equipment as my personal rig for about 2 years and everything is in excellent condition(the gun base has some cosmetic scratches but the gun itself is clean) This is a full one-man setup and it allows you to work very quickly in the field and the office. The radios and Carlson SurvCE software are what make this rig so fast. You can take shots about as quickly as you can walk to the point. You can also track points using both left/right distance and graphic targeting on the screen(among other methods) With this setup. I can single handedly finish a topo survey in about a quarter of the time that it takes a two man crew using the walkie-talkie method(plus the resulting topo is much better) Construction staking is also made much, much easier with one man controlling the gun and finding ... morethe points while another stakes(I have also staked as a one-man crew and can typically go as fast or faster than two man) The point is, if there is work to be done, you can make a lot of money very quickly using this setup. Some disclaimers: I purchased the gun used through a professional dealer(Allen Precision Equipment) who serviced it before shipping it to me; I have not since serviced it as I feel that the accuracy and precision are still very good. As stated. The gun base shows signs of wear but this is cosmetic only and in no way affects its functionality. Some of the plastic components on the gun look as though they have been out in the sun because they have(I live and work in Southern California) This is again entirely cosmetic and in no way affects the guns function or durability. Everything else was purchased new and has been very well cared for. I replaced one of the dowels on one of the tripod legs due to a crack that formed in it while tightening the leg lock. This is an extremely rare Roelofs Solar Prism. Manufactured by Wild Heerbrugg as an theodolite accessory for making solar observations. Produces four overlapping images of the sun, which makes it possible to make precision observations. Built in solar filter. Originally built for the Wild T2 theodolite, can fit any theodolite with an adaptor. Note in photo that the slip-on mount has an inside diameter of about 46 mm, and is tightened with a screw clamp.
