The spikes themselves seem solid and sharp. The upper leather straps are good but could use some oiling. The foot straps are a thinner leather that don't seem as high of quality and are two different styles from each other so I don't think they are original to these. Great pair of Gecko Carbon gaffs/ hooks. These are used for a season but in great condition. These measure 19" from top to bottom and have 2 3/4" tree hooks that are interchangeable. The spikes measure about 1 1/4" by 2" The gaffs have old leather straps that are dry and have some cracks. There are only three straps as one is missing. There is a yellow belt that has a copper tag that shows an elephant climbing a pole. Reads" Franklin PA. SN 1272, code#6390" It appears to be made of nylon and leather. Klein 1907 arborist/linemans pole/tree climbing spikes gaffs with Buckingham 3500c Velcro straps. Good condition. They have been used for a while, I have used myself and they work great. The length is adjustable as well as the straps for legs and ankles. The spikes are replaceable. There is a srew missing from one of the shaft, I have used it without but a new set of screws are $5-$8.

One pad has leather that looks different on the back. When leather men make these items once they run out of one hide they cut out of the next. Lot of Vintage Lineman Gear- 2 Sets of Pole Gaff& Belt- Buckingham LC-5 Vintage Collectibles I imagine that most people desire these as a collectible. And not for actual use. If you decide to actually use them.then thoroughly inspect them to make sure that they are safe to use. All of the items in this lot have been used. One set of gaffs. Does not have any of the leather straps. One of these gaffs. Has also been painted in an olive green paint. The leather on the belt and strap. Is pretty stiff, but it is still in one piece. The belt has some white residue.not quite sure what it is. Not sure who mad these. The other set of gaffs are LC-243/G. This set does have the leather straps. And the straps are in decent shape. A little stiff. But not as bad as the belt. You can probably strap them ... moreon for novelty purposes.but I wouldn't climb with them. Some tape and adhesive residue on this set. Vintage M. Klein& Sons climbing gaffs. Size 16 1/2. They look to be in good shape, the points are sharp and the frames solid. They have the original owners name on them in what looks like nail polish, as well as left/right identification. I have not tried to remove this but I would think it could be taken off. We have a pair of adjustable line mans spurs/gaffs. Used. One of the leathers is pretty well worn. The spurs are in good condition. There's a couple of pins in the metal leg strap that you can pull out and adjust the height- or shorten the spurs length.
