TS-9 Tube Screamer-style circuit minus the input and output buffer transistors and the electronic switching components. The overdrive features controls for Drive, Tone, and Level. The tone control works in a reverse fashion, brightening the tone when turned counter-clockwise. The unit has a true-bypass slide switch for switching the effect on and off and is powered by a single 9-volt battery which is switched on when a plug is inserted into the input jack. The Valve Lasher also features a socket for the dual op-amp IC so that it can be quickly changed with different ... morebrand op-amps. The unit comes with an SK 3465 dual op-amp installed. I have had the chance to listen to the pedal with a vintage JRC4558D installed and it makes a slight difference toward the better though not really that noticeable. Many of the electronic components were sourced from a couple disco era stereo systems, as was the fine south-east Asian particle board used for the effect’s enclosure. I'm not quite sure what this is. It appears to be some sort of clamp or wire holder used in the electric utility industry. It appears to be made of bronze. But it could be brass. It's HEAVY. Weighing 2.8 lbs. It's marked Bodebdieck. Taylorville, Illinois, 9124, Max. 1.5. No ZIP code indicates that it dates from before the early 1960's. I have noticed that the three main parts of the piece are marked 9124. 9125, and 9126- I presume that these numbers identify the parts during the manufacturing and assembly process. It does not appear that this piece is complete. There are threaded holes and contours that indicate that some part is missing.
