Being offered is this M8A Brooks Linemans Belt and Gaffs. It seems to be in working order. It is approximately 38-40' waist. Both gaffs have sheeths on the blades. SOme of the leather has some dry cracking. But would probably be fine if oiled and conditioned. This was bought at an estate sale of an older former lineman. Up for auction is a pair of Bashlin BD-14 aluminum tree- or pole-climbing spikes. These are OLD and in rough shape. And show their age in many ways. First. Both leather harnesses have lost stitching and split, and the stuffing is showing. See second through sixth pictures. The leather has mildewed, and is stiffening, aging, and starting to deteriorate, and the metal buckles and other metal parts are rusted. The screws(visible in the last picture) that allow the length to be adjusted seem to be frozen in place. I tried a screwdriver and was unable to loosen them, however, I didn't try WD40 or PD-Blaster or any other means, so perhaps there is hope. These are an interesting item as far as being a piece of history. But I suspect that they don't have any useful life in them. These are a used pair of climbing Gaffs that were used in the 1980.S for climbing telephone poles while I worked as a lineman for the telecommunications industry. Most of the scrapes on the bottoms of the gaffs are from the miles walked between the poles. The leather is still in good shape and useable. On the safety belt it is for someone with a 34-40 inch waste, The safety strap is in good condition. On the belt is two pouches attached to hold tools and equipment. Also on the belt is a hanger that I used to hang a rope from to pull equipment up when I needed the pieces.

This sale is for a set of Klein lineman's climbing gear. This includes a linemen's body belt size 38-46 model 5278N23. Safety strap, climbers or gaffs, Buckingham utility bag, lineman's hammer, and lineman's wrench. All are in excellent condition. The gaffs are for pole climbing but you can install the longer tree gaffs for climbing trees. These tools were my personal tools before I retired. Vintage Buckingham Tree/Pole Climbing Safety Belt& M. Klein& Sons Strap#58 Made in USA. Still in great shape! Up for your consideration is this old but still usable pole climbing belt by Buckingham. It is a size 42. As tooled onto the leather belt and it looks like it is a model 1058. The belt is fairly thick and measures 4 1/4 inches wide. To give you an idea of whether this will fit you. The length from the buckle to the first hole(smallest) is 36" And 46" to the last hole. This item is used but still has some luster and softness in the leather. Is very clean. And in sturdy secure condition. Some leather conditioner would make it even better. The metal portions of the the belt has some rust on it but no flaking. The strap is a Model 58 by M. This is a very heavy duty vintage leather safety belt. It is in sound condition. The leather is old and has some surface cracking but is sound. I would not advise hanging by it, it's more of a decorative item. The main belt measures 3" wide and 41 inches long, the lease is 1 3/4" wide and 2" long.
