This was found in the attic of a house that was built in 1892. I have been told that this is a nail maker. It has holes that go from square on one end to round on the other end. Original set of antique Barnes No.5 cast iron legs in very good original condition. The legs are approximately 35-3/4" high x 23" wide at the base x 5-1/4" wide at the top mounting plate. They are original and have not been repainted. And have the normal oxidation of 100 plus year old cast iron. The W.F.Barnes name and Rockford Illinois USA in raised letters are present on the lower arch. Vintage CAT Caterpillar Tractor Dozer Crawler TRACK ADJUSTER WRENCH 1B5773. This vintage 1930’s wrench is a Caterpillar Tractor special tool for adjusting the track tension on the larger crawler models with mechanical threaded adjusters. Cat Part# 1B5773 is clearly shown on the wrench. The opening measures 2 ¾ inch. Marked“Made in USA” These are high quality tools made for Caterpillar by Armstrong and has their distinctive arm and hammer blacksmith logo on the reverse side of the wrench. Tool surface has turned to an even aged brown finish overall but no significant pitting. No hammer marks or damage from abuse. I believe this is the earlier“long dog leg handle” version that would fit the earlier tractor models like the Cat Model 60 and others of that size and vintage. This is either a great user tool or one for your collection. There is rust throughout and a tiny amount of pitting but overall the condition is very good. This is Model#72. 8" from Southington Hardware Company, Southington, Ct. The price in their 1930"catalogue" was $11.20.Per Dozen! Southington has been in business since 1867 and by 1930 they were making some of the best steel squares and other tools in the US. This one could use a good cleaning. Found these while cleaning up around the farm. The machines are long gone. These were on the seat of the old service truck. These came from machine 46A22445, a D8H. The engine spun a bearing if I remember, it was later cut up and these forgotten about in the old truck. They've been there for 10 years or more. The turbo spins free. Not rusted.
