IMPORTANT Beware of others selling double braid ropes and calling them "climbing line". This rope is not a double braid, it has a polyester braided jacked tightly wound over a parallel nylon core. This prevents the jacket from moving over top of the core. This is what is typically referred to as milking. This is a vintage Peavey No. 228 Cant Hook logging tool. The metal is marked"2- 3/8 PEAVEY NO. 228" on one side and"THE PEAVEY MFG. OAKLAND. MAINE" on the other. Stamped B 1 above the hook joint. The condition of the metal is a rusty, but the hook swings freely and all pieces are secure and firm. The hook has an open width of around 17" and closed it is 3.5" Beautiful working rusty condition.

Offering up for sale this very well made old tool that was made for repair of saw chains larger than I use. I will give here the dimensions of the 3 anvils on this tool. So prior to buying be absolutely certain that the anvils are of the right size for the chains you use. The anvil with the widest groove is directly across from the spinner tool, and the groove diameter is 11/32" or 9mm. The other 2 anvils have a narrower diameter goove of 5/16" or 8mm.the same diameter on the smaller 2. There are holes in the tool for the included rivet punch, directly above all 3 anvils. The punch slides freely up and down with no slop or side play in all 3 punch holes, and punch tip allignment with center goove of all 3 anvils is very good. All 3 anvils are removable by means of one allen head ... moreset screw per anvil, should you wish to replace any with narrower grooved anvils, and each are simply removed by pressing or punching them out from holes on underside of tool.I'm not sure where you could find the narrower anvils but somewhere they certainly must be available. I have not attempted removing any of the anvil set screws, but I strongly recommend applying heat from a torch around them before attempting to change any of the 3 if you dont want to strip the allen holes out. There are 4 holes to choose from in the base for mounting this tool to a shop bench.2 screws are included for a wooden bench. Removal of the top center nut will no longer seperate the upper and lower portions, as tool has been welded together at center. I cant see why the 2 halves would ever need seperated again anyhow. My guess is it never broke, but rather was welded together to keep the punch holes and anvils permanently aligned. The threads on the spinner handle assembly are in great shape and handle turns freely bringing spinner head all the way down to anvil. Beneath the top nut the tool is marked 1C, 4060. Name on tool is Bluejet Corp. Hopedale, Mass. This is a very well made tool, like most old tools were. I've never seen another like

Great running. Starting Husqvarna 346XP/ XPG. I am surprised by how much power this 45cc engine produces. There is minimal scratches and scuffs on this saw, though the sun has faded the top cover a bit. The bar has been flipped even though it has signs of excessive heat on the bottom the groove and such are in good shape. The saw came to me with a perforated fuel line. I repaired it and it fired right up. Comes with the scrench and the carb screwdriver. I live at sea level so an adjustment may be necessary. The good: The automatic oiler works great. Currently set at the middle setting. The saw starts easily. Though it may seem difficult with this much compression. Upon starting the engine revs with good power. Clutch engages perfect. 325 Rim sprocket look excellent. Chain brake works as it ... moreshould. 18" 050 Bar looks a little rough but is in good shape. Chain is sharp and has a lot of life left.
