Up for bidding is a very nice SouthPenn Half-breed. Originally a steam engine. It was converted to natural gas around 1910. It is a true half-breed with one larger flywheel and one smaller flywheel. I has no CBW that we know of. Comes with a working Kip oiler for crank and slider. This is a very rare engine. Best of all is that it can be cranked on a half of turn of the flywheel( I will try to post a video on YouTube at Rusty's SouthPenn) and then runs beautifully on the hot tube. Comes with cross-tie base. This is not junk or a parts engine. Bolt to your trailer and go to the show. Very unique starting system comes with the engine. Alpha DeLaval Hit and Miss Engine 1-1/2 h.p. Model W Type E171 Nice running engine. That was originally used to power a vacuum pump for milking cows. An engine with the vacuum pump set-up can be seen on Harry's Old Engine Page#8 on the Net. I don't have the vacuum pump and am selling"just the engine" This engine was manufactured some time after 1923, as that's when the"now pricy" Wico EK magneto came out. This Alpha still has the"hard to find" original brass oiler on it. There is a new heavy gauge fuel tank on it. Sorry about the light green paint. It needs to meet up with a can of olive drab to go better with the old original olive drab Alpha De Laval paint. The engine was disassembled. Cleaned, and inspected. The cylinder was lightly honed. And the ... morevalves and valve seats were ground. It has great compression. The main bearings were in nice shape. The rod bearing is a little rough. But was re-shimmed and should be okay for quite a while. New bearings are available from Hit and Miss Enterprises. I finished up this engine last Fall. And ran it several times for about an hour total. It started easy. And maintained rated speed nicely. It has a"non original" muffler. But believe repo's are available. Local Pick Up only. I will not ship. Crate, nor make arrangements to ship this engine. But will store the engine for a few months if paid for via PayPal after the auction. Thanks for looking!

Engine has very good compression but no spark may need points. Fuel tank has some junk in the bottom but when I scraped it it came off easily and tank is nice under the gunk. Engine does have a dent in the blower cover as pictured and is greasy dirty so please bid accordingly. I will part out if it does not sell.

An Antique Thompson Engineering Co Air Cooled Portable Motor in"as found" condition. We don't know much about this small motor and it it being sold"as is" just as we found it. It has a large flywheel that measures 4 1/2" in diameter with a small notch at the end. Has an overhead valve with a bronze rocker arm. Down below is a roller and cam setup. The roller on the push rod is stuck with old grease. There is a compression release valve on top that works when pressed down. When you turn the engine over you can hear light compression. This motor has a very tiny Champion spark plug just like in the gas powered aircraft motors. The fuel tank is loose and sits on an angle. It has a small painted red knurled brass cap. The side of the motor has an opening where you can ... moresee the connecting rod move up and down. It has what looks like a car condenser attached to the ignition device. Another small electrical device encased in hard rubber was found near by and came with the motor. The base is aluminum and measures 6" by 4" The motor stands 8" high. The number"045" is cast in the base under the flywheel. Overall. A very interesting little motor. Sort of resembles the very first Briggs& Stratton lawn mower engine only smaller. An Early Bipolar Electric Fan Motor in"as found. As is" condition. It does look to be very early and I would date it around 1890 or so. This small grapefruit size motor has a fan blade attached the measures 7 3/4" in diameter. It does turn freely and is mounted to an 8" x 5" homemade wooden base. For bid is a Maytag model 72 hit& miss engine. This engine is complete and in running condition. I worked on it last fall and got it running. Today. I put some gasoline in the tank and it started up with no problem. It runs very smooth. It was running when I took the close up pictures of the flywheel. I could not slow the shutter speed on my camera enough to show it running. There is a weld(braze) on the starter kick pedal as can be seen in a couple of the pictures. The repair was done very well, but nevertheless, it was repaired. This is an underslung type mount. There is a wrench included which is also shown in the pictures. This engine is used and is being sold as/is. Anyone in the 43402 area is welcome to contact me and inspect this engine.

This mag is hot! I tripped with a screwdriver and got a brite blue spark at the points! My dad purchased this mag years ago along with some other gas engines. This is a Oil Field engine hot tube Chimney and burner. Not sure what engine it came off of Bessemer? Half breed? The burner stands 16" tall and the mounting flange has 3 1/4" centers and 7/16" holes. The burner is 1/2" and it seems the 1/4" threads at the end are broke off.ID of the hole on the flange end is 1 5/8" and the top of the chimney ID is 1 7/8" and there is a cast mark in the chimney(4A12) Chimeny has no breaks or welds. Totally rebuilt 1929 Maytag 92 hit and miss gas engine. I sandblasted all parts cleaned them and painted them with hammered finish paint. The mag was re charged new crank bushings.Cylinder was honed and new rings installed. New plug wire and plug. Gasket set and rebuilt carb Decals come with it but you will have to set them.This is a great running engine and fun to watch. I ran this engine for about 3 min and was fine. A 16to1 oil gas mix to break it in was used. I was told to drop to 20 to 1 after that. Will be bolted to the stand and a wooden crate built to it for shipping. Thanks and good luck

An Early Fairbanks Morse Home Light Plant Catalog in nice original condition. This 15-page booklet measures 8 1/4" x 11" an is complete. The copyright date is 1924. Here is a rebuilt easy starting and nice running Briggs& Stratton 5 HP Model 135212. The Briggs& Stratton 5 HP engine is still one of the best sellers of all time for Briggs and one of their top designs. This is a great engine for a tiller. Go kart, mini bike, pumps or any other application that uses a side shaft motor. The output shaft is 3/4" diameter and 2-1/4" long. I put a short throttle cable so you can see that set up and also included, on a CD for you, the different throttle set ups from the Briggs manual, a PDF of the Illustrated Parts List and oil recommendations. I have started, ran, and tuned this engine many times for a total of at least 1 hour to break it in and make sure everything works as it should. Starting with a good cylinder block this engine got a new ... moreset of piston rings. New exhaust valve and seating, gaskets, seals, air cleaner element, carburetor rebuild with new diaphragm, muffler, new sarter rope and a the required labor to bring it back to factory specs. Parts value alone came to 115.00. This engine has been"upgraded" to the earlier style fully rebuildable carburetor and fuel tank. The original non adjustable type carburetor is one of Briggs& Strattons super rare mistakes. Those carburetors get plugged up because of todays bad gas if not drained when sitting for a few months. This did not used to be a problem but the new style sealed carburetors are just about impossible to clean internally and a replacment is over $90.00. Changing to the good old. Vintage Maytag Model 72-D Manufactured 1940 Washing Machine Engine. The Maytag Motor is in nice shape for its age. And has the rare attractive easy mounting cast base. The Motor was stored inside a building our family just got for many years. I cleaned the motor the best I could with out taking anything apart. The Maytag Motor appears complete with no missing. Cracked or broke parts other than the spark plug end on one side is broke. The rubber motor heat guards on spark plugs are damaged from heat. I took them off for cleaning and forgot to put on for pictures, I will send with machine. spark plug wires look good. I have not tried to start motor. I do not want to put gas in the tank and have the smell limit the possibility of shipping this item. I looked in the gas tank with a gun barrel ... morelight, the tank looks good the little bit I could see. The motor appears to have good compression. 1916 engine with a serial number of 209xxx if I am reading it correctly. Ignitor fired and set up to run on a battery and coil. Does not have a mag. Fuel tank oroiler but is equipped with a flat belt pulley and the crankguard. Turns over and has compression. Local pickup only and cash on pickup. We no longer have a Fastenal store within a reasonable distance for shipping heavy items. A friend and I purchased these engines for the younger members of our club but then none of them wanted to come up with the money to buy them so they are being listed here exactly as we received them.

This is an ignitor fired engine from 1917 if I am reading the serial number correctly. It has the fuel tank and the hard to fins crankguard. The guard has a little damage but it still useable. The is no oiler or magneto with this engine. It turns over and has compression. I would guess a few adjustments and an oiler. Battery and coil and this one will be a runner. The bad news is local pickup only and cash on pickup we no longer have a Fastenal store that con ship heavy objects anywhere close. A friend and I bought a collection of engines for some of the younger guys in our club but when the engines showed up none of them wanted to pay for them so we are listing them here exactly as received.

Old Pulley From the steam engine days.10 inches in Diameter. 4 3/4 inches wide and Made to fit a 2 15/16 shaft, has a wooden bushing that reduces it to 1 1/2 inches. The original paint was green, when we cleaned it up not much of the original had survived. Selling a very nice. Complete Neslon Brothers engine as sold by the George Pohl Company of Vernon, NY. The engine is an unusual size. With a rare original George Pohl nametag. The engine features original tank and crank guard. It has maybe 50% original paint. With some faint pinstripping on the hopper. The muffler has a piece broken out of the rim. And there is a frost crack on the bottom of the cylinder. The previous owner passed away during show season. And the engine was not drained for the winter. The crack does not leak. This is a Penberthy Injector Co. Ltd. drip oiler made in Windsor. Ont. Canada. It is complete and in very good condition except for the bottom nut being a little messed up on one side from someone using a pipe wrench to turn it. Threads are 1/2" pipe. This is a used Briggs& Stratton Pulsa Jet automatic choke carburetor and fuel tank originally found on Models 82900. 92900, 110900, 111900 and other vintage verticle shaft engines that have a 9 as the 3rd or 4th digit in the type number. Message me if not sure of your application. The tank looks good, shines inside, and the carburetor has no seized parts but needs a cleaning. I included a NOS Briggs Diaphragm that would normally be replaced any time this type of carburetor is pulled apart. This tank measures 8" L, 4"W and 2-3/4" H. PAYMENT is by PAYPAL ONLY.
