I started looking for the missing parts this morning(1-28-13) and found that Lee Anderson- phone 218-334-2404 has reproduction ignitors available for $195 plus $12 shipping. Bill at Starbolt Engine Supply- phone 301-874-2821 makes the crankshaft cover or guard for $55 plus $13 shipping. John Wanat- phone 203-938-3771 makes a reprocution fuel tank for $54 plus shipping. I figure the availability of these new parts will make this engine project more appealing to most engine collectors. This 1 HP Rock Island hit& miss old gasoline engine is in relatively good original condition. I suspect this is the smallest engine in the Rock Island line and is very ... morelikely much harder to find that the larger 1-1/2 HP and larger engines might be. I am not an expert on this particular make of engine but I suspect it was built by Alamo and marketed by the Rock Island Plow Company of Rock Island. Illinois. There may also have been an identical engine sold under the name of Empire but I am not sure of that. This is a cute little engine with flywheels that are only 17-1/2" in diameter. This engine is 29" long not counting the later fuel tank. It is 20" wide and 19" high to the tops of the flywheels. The serial number A22384 is on the brass tag and is also stamped on the front of the water hopper but is mostly coverd up with paint. This gem was fixed up many years ago and has been inside here in relatively dry Montana since that time. The engine still turns over and has some compression but I have not tried to make it run and do not intend to try to make it run. The original ignitor is missing and has been replaced with a plate with a spark plug in it. It appears that someone added an ignition cam to the outside of the original exhaust valve cam but that ignition cam appears to be missing. The original mixer appears to be in excellent condtion. Here is another nice starter cup probably from a Briggs and Stratton(WMB. 5S? It is meant for the rope start setup. Has been wire brushed on the outside. The part which is visible from outside the shroud is still nicely painted black. The grass screen is sill attached solid to the cup, it is not banged up and ready for use. Cup diameter is approx. 2 1/2" Screen diameter is around 4 3/4" and has a slight lip to it Hole for shaft is 1/2" the depth of the cup is 2" possible retro fit on other rope starter models. This engine is a 6.5hp#YK650 Yamakoyo gas 4cycle motor that has a pull recoil starter and a horizontial shaft of 2.5" long x 3/4"dia. Motor does have a good compression of 64lbs and has a good spark but the carburator needs to be cleaned out or rebuild if possible. Over all engine is in good condition but does have a dent on gas tank side and the muffler has a little rust around it outside. On/off switch does work but is little loose. The recoil starter works good and motor has new spark plug installed. This motor is the equivlent to a Honda GX200QX model and many parts are available for this engine type online. For your consideration. Antique John Deere E 1-1/2 HP stationary gasoline hit miss farm engine on wooden skids I took it mostly apart last fall and cleaned it out and put new oil and gas in it. I tried to fix the gas tank- but it is still leaky. This engine needs an oil pan. Appears to be a very old restoration- had it running last fall- has good compression& has a good mag. The water jacket/hopper appears to have been repaired some time in the past. You will also need a spring for the trip finger. The bearings seem to be good. This is a hard to find igniter for the 1 HP. IHC Famous Titan. I find no cracks or breaks in the igniter there is rust pitting on the igniter. The point arm and trip arm move freely and are not frozen. The mounting holes are 5/16 diameter and 2 3/16 between center of hole mountings. The brass thumb screw to hold the wire turns freely. Stuart Turner. England, model boiler force feed pump. Construction is bronze painted green with what appears to be a stainless steel piston and a mild steel hand lever. This pump appears unused. There is no damage or wrench marks on the glands and check valve cover. The paint appears original with a few small handling chips. The paint on the upper side of the the bronze base casting is thin and absent in places. The ball checks are free and functional, the piston slides smoothly. Metal surfaces are dark with age. There is some light rust on the lever and lever retaining pins, the cotter pins are made of brass and are rust-free. I was tempted to clean the lever with fine emery cloth and steel wool, but this pump is original"as found" and any cleaning is better left to the purchaser. ... moreThe piston has no discoloration, it remains bright. The oxide on the inlet copper tube solder joint rubs off easily. No effort has been made to disassemble this pump. You are bidding on a very high quality. Scale model of a 1 1/2hp John Deere E hit& miss engine. The engine is in fantastic shape and is mounted on a nice set of trucks. It has great compression and starts right up and will run all day. This is not an easy to build or simple model in any way. Many hours of work went into making one of these. Every part that the full size engine has, so does this one, including everything inside the crankcase. Even the gas tank is the curved tin, like the originals. It's totally complete, even has the muffler and tin pulley. Like any other model, the magneto obviously isn't functional but the detail on it is just incredible. The flywheels measure 6" The side cover even has the brass serial number tag, just like the real thing. Even the needle ... morevalve is totally correct to scale of the original. Take a look at the pictures and I'm sure you will agree, they don't get much better than this. I have seen these ignitor fired JD's advertised for upwards of $4,000. This auction is no reserve and it sells to the highest bidder. The man that owned this, took great pride in all of his models. Know that you are buying quality, and an engine that was always cared for. It will come inside a wooden carrying case, that was built for this model. Made by a tool and die maker some years ago and in very nice condition.The casting kit came from Coles power models. It is 45cc 2 cylinder opposed 4 stroke motor with 1-1/4 bore and 1-1/8 stroke delivering 1.5hp at 5400 RPM.It measures 11 X 7 X 6 high not including the gas tank. The casting kit contained 34 castings.3 iron, 11 aluminum, 20 bronze and it weighs about 12 lbs. Look at the pics and see if you would like to add it to your collection. This is a 1 1/2 HP headless hit& miss engine from 1918 according to the serial number. It has been converted to sparkplug ignition. It has great compression and rotates freely. Gas tank hold fuel. All that should be needed is your own battery and buzz coil. I have not had this one running. This will be cash on pickup. No Paypal. If you wish it shipped it will be up to you to make arrangements through Fastenal. I will put it on a pallet and get it there although I do not have a way to band it. Here is a very nice Woodpecker hit and miss model gas engine. Everything on this model looks and work very nicely. It has excellent compression and turns over smoothly with no drag. I have not run it. This is an original push rod assembly with part of the webster magneto trip. And a detent arm off of a 1 hp Alamo. Empire, or Rock Island engine. The pust rod is also the same and will fit the 1 1/2 alamo. Detent arm will only fit the engines with the cam gear on the inside of the crank case. Pust rod is rusty but everything is free and nothing stuck. No cracks, breaks, or welds on the push rod. Detent arm is also rusty and still stuck. The detent blade itself looks to have an old braze repair but no cracks, breaks, or welds on the casting. Check out the pictures large sized to get a good look. This is a real nice original steel BATTERY BOX for a 1 1/2hp FAIRBANKS MORSE Z engine. Bolts to the side of the hopper and top of skid. It is complete with the knife switch. Original coil, original plug wire. This is a nice straight box and is rust free. This is the nicest original box I have seen. Even the original wood on the bottom is in good shape. Even the old plug wire is in good usuable condition. Lid opens and closes and it has the original latch to keep the lid closed. Knife switch works great. Has a standard model T coil inside which slides into a slot. Didnt check it for spark but I quickly hooked a battery charger to the wires and the coil buzzed strong. The only issue I saw is the bolt hole on the back side where it bolts to the hopper. Looks like the bolt may have pulled through ... moreand broke a small piece of the metal out probably from vibration. Looks like it could be fixed with a large flat washer on the inside and it wont be seen after its mounted on the engine. Really a good solid box which will look great on that original engine or paint it for your restored engine. Very hard to find an original box for these as most of them have rusted away or removed and thrown out. Check out the pictures large sized to get a good look. For your consideration is a vintage cast iron cylinder head with casting number S299. I believe it's from a 1937- 1952 Maytag dual cylinder engine. Please note that two small pieces of the fins are broken from the top. The threads are good. The cylinder interior has just a little bit of ver y light rust that will clean off easily(it had formed just in the last week or two when I had it sitting on my porch) This head is not perfect but it should be usable. Very nice refurbished Webster magneto and igniter bracket. The magneto has fantastic spark. The points are very nice. I believe this will fit Economy and Hercules engines. Here are 2 Maytag Model 92 carburetor cores for rebuilding or parts. Both are part no S 244. These are both the most common carb for the early 92 Models with the round top at the air intake. No CBWs in the castings. A small pipe on each one is cut or broken and needs repair. The one on the left has had the air valve assembly nut cut flush with the idea if using an extractor and drill combination to remove it as the nut was so badly damaged it would not enable it to unscrew. Also included in this lot are some some small parts and a few gaskets which are usable used or new hand cut ones. I have around eight lots of maytag parts going on ebay in the next few weeks. Now in retirement. I am cleaning out my"stuff" All good parts from engines I parted out over the years. Very nice hard to find Domestic Side Shaft Farm engine- Farm engine meaning it has none of the ugly pump bosses on the side or back like most all Domestic engines- Runs great- has a hot mag- Runs nice and slow- the only repair is the lever for changing the speed is broken off- I have a home made one on it right and works fine- a new repo can be bought for $85 ready to put on if wanted- I now have this engine on an original rock island cart- Fits nice- Flywheels run true- This is a hit and miss engine- no other problems I have seen other than the timing lever- this is a 2HP engine- easy to move around and load and unload and makes a nice show engine- I also just put on a nice cast iron muffler after I took the photos- I ran this engine off a temp-gas tank and have not used the tank in the base ... moreyet- Appears to be clan inside- Has 2 nice pulleys also- Selling engine as is as seen and comes with no warranty or guarantee what so ever- No pay pal- payment by other means please- Can help ship if needed- Pick up is O.K.
