This unit has never been exposed to the elements. I kept it in an enclosure and put the wire around my 2/3 acre pond to"enlighten the geese"or should I say light up the geese. This unit did the trick and no geese ever ventured onto my pond after touching this wire. My one son thought the jolt would not be too bad so he touched it and it lit him up. You should have seen the look on his face and oh how he tried to convince my other son that it was not bad and to touch it to see for himself. This one comes with lots of extras that you need anyway.4 polytape wire tighteners since the wire between any insulators tends to sag somewhat over time. 15+ insulators that fit onto posts or nails including some reflectors that you put on the wire. In my case. I used rebar pounded into the ground ... moreand the insulators fastened just fine.plus one roll of polywire with stainless steel shock wire intertwined among the polyethylene rope. Just connect to the"fence" terminal and a shocking you will go. The polywire has about 150 yards left on the roll. All in all a nice setup in pristine condition.
