Rescued from the site of an old Bee Farm in Highland Ca. It was in a shed that has not been opened in over 40 years. Items in the shed are dusty, and dated late 1800's to mid 1950's. I did not deep clean any of the rescues; I dusted off with a clean damp rag and leave restorations to the experts. This is a vintage Honey Grader. It works. Plug is in decent condition. I am not a bee farmer. The information I am offering is based on visual matches acquired from an internet search. I hope I can answer all of your questions Here is some information I gathered off the net re: this scale: Honey quality was first judged with the very old school Pfund Color Grader Honey quality was assessed by color. The lighter the honey. The higher the price. Every honey sample is assigned a value from around ... more5 to around 90. With 5 being very light(like alfalfa honey) and 90 being very dark(like buckwheat or sunflower) For the lighter honeys you usually are paid a premium. Vintage Honey Bee Hive Smoker Made of leather. Wood and tin this smoker is in good condition for it's age. It does show the expected signs of age and the leather is getting pretty worn on the front folds but has no major damage, please see the photos as part of the description. This is a two sided antique French poster depicting the biology of the honey bee on one side and the biology of fish on the other. I am a beekeeper and I found this poster absolutely charming. It was an antique when I bought it 30 years ago and has some tattering on the edges. Most of which can be addressed with good matting. It could also be displayed with glass on both sides so both images could be appreciated. All the captions are in French. It is a large poster, about 36 inches by 31 inches. This auction is for a vintage queen excluder. It is metal with a wooden frame. The excluder is uncleaned meaning there is residual wax. Glue and maybe a few cobwebs. These are two vintage Electric Uncapping Knives- one is Pierce and the other I could not find a brand name on. They are in used vintage preowned condition as you can see in the pictures. Vintage Beekeeping Equipment? I am not exactly sure what this item is. I got it from the estate of an elderly gentleman who used to raise bees and sell honey. As you can see. It has a hand pump handle where you would pump powder out the fixtures. The cap unscrews on the end of the tube and the two fixtures mounted on the sides will unscrew and screw onto the end of the tube. All three caps are interchangable. I believe that it was for spraying powder into the hive but I am not sure. It has a wood handle that attaches to what looks to be a brass rod inside the tube. Outer tube looks to be copper and the screw on fixtures look to be brass. I have not tried to file a small spot on any of this item to determine exactly if it is made of brass or copper, I didn't want to mar the surface. This old bee hive smoker and hood are just as I found them in the basement. My dad used them years ago. There is still some"nut shells" in the smoker. As he would drop them in when he ate nuts, guess it helped to make smoke. The baffel still produces a"puff" when it is squeezed.It is unmarked with the exception of 1951 stamped on the wood. The hood is made of screen and cloth and is good with the exception of a small hole in the fabric, as I have shown in the pictures. I took a lot of pictures so you could look it over.

Miniature. Approximately 4 inches wide x 6 inches long x 4 inches tall(appropriate measurements) unpainted unfinished wood, built with staples and small wire nails in such a way that the top opens as seen in photo. 3x5 index cards would fit inside. Might be nice as a box for your honey based recipe cards. Only condition issue is a small splinter of wood missing near the bee entrance(bottom right of the photo of the entrance end of the hive)

Four dark brown ceramic spice shakers. Each with a different label. Allspice, Cinnamon, Ginger, and Paprika. All have bee finial on top with 3 holes through which to shake out your spice. Honeycomb pattern on the sides along with 2 more bees as decoration. 2 have JAPAN sticker label on the bottom. All have corked holes in bottom. Good condition, but one had chip on bottom rim which looks like it happened during the manufacturing because it is glazed over. Really it looks more like a burst bubble than a chip.

This is so cool. 4" long. It's actually 3 layers with the eggs inside the 3rd layer. It is so thin. Quite an amazing little piece of artwork. I flew it home from Michigan in a box filled with cotton balls. My dad said it was a yellow jacket& it's nest. So I hope that's right. Whatever it is, it's very neat.
