This is a very old Sealtest Milk Can with the lid chained to it. It has lots of dents and dings and some rust. Shows its age.It looks like it has been painted at one time a gold and most of this paint is wearing off. I cannot make out all the writing on the can.It is app.16" tall and app.8" wide. I am not sure how much it held but looks like at least 2 gallons? not sure. It does have a hole in the bottom so does no longer hold liquid. This is a used surge dairy claw with a shut off valve that fits on top of a surge pulsator bucket. The outside of the plastic cup says Surge. The plastic is free from cracks. But has a piece broken off from one end of one of the stems that the teet cup fit onto, as hopefully the pictures will show. Maybe it will still work, or use as parts. The end of the stem with the shut off calve measures approximately 5/8" across. This unit comes as as found. It will need cleaned, and the gasket may possibly need replaced. This is an old pasteurizer that belonged to my mother. she gave it to me when she retired and left the farm. I have no idea if it works or not. It appears to be in good shape. The book is included. As well as everything you see. Message me if you have questions, but I have no idea how it works.

Originally this would have come with copper test tubes. Tool is unmarked. Manufacturer unknown. Tool attaches to a bench then an amount of milk to be tested was put into the tubes and spun. History of tool/tester: Until the 1890s. Dishonest farmers could water down their milk or remove some cream before selling it to the factories because milk was paid for by volume. Honest farmers, as well as those that produced naturally rich milk, were not being compensated fairly. Key to this process is that everything in milk except the fat dissolves in sulfuric acid. The fat floats to the top. The centrifuge ensures complete separation with no bubbles in the fat, and the fat content can be measured using the graduations on the test tube and knowing the initial amount of milk used. This is a very nice stainless steel vat or dispensing unit that I have up for sale. It has very durable fork pockets on the bottom for easy moving. There are a few dents dings and scratches in it from normal use. None of these change the strength of the unit or create leaks. The unit weighs roughly 500 pounds. This would would great for packaging of bulk product into smaller packages and many other uses. This could be used for food products such as maple syrup because it is stainless steel. Vat measures roughly 4'2" x 4'2" x 5'9" tall. I have a fork lift for loading. This is listed as local pick up only but it could easily be packaged and loaded onto a freight truck at an additional cost. Simple forklift loading is included in the price. Here are 2 nice large galvanized milk strainer funnels. I bought these years ago at an auction of a dairy farm that had gone out of business. They measure 13" across at the top and are 9" high. There is a removable( to make washing much easier) strainer at the bottom. The first picture is from the top and the 2nd is looking from the bottom. I think the farmer put a piece of muslin aboe the holes and then poured the raw milk in the top and then let the raw milk seep into the old 30 gallon milk can
