Pour some tenderizer in your hand and add a few drops of water to make a thick paste. Apply immediately over the sting area and cover with bandaid and leave on for about 40 minutes. Sounds crazy but it REALLY does work! The enzymes in the papaya(one ingredient in meat tenderizer) counteracts the venom and helps to ease the pain almost immediately! This is a Dadant& Sons antique/vintage bee smoker. It is in good shape. I believe it is made of tin or some sort of metal. It does have rust and the tip is a little bent as shown in pics. The bellow is in good shape. On the bottom of the bellow there is a D logo and it reads Dadant& Sons. Inc Hamilton, IL 62341. Awesome Piece of Beekeepers history! This vintage smoker is all there: it was found hanging in a beekeeper's shed. The owner probably hung it there in the early 1900's after use and expected to use it again! The twine he used is still attached and the contents are still within. The leather is all there. Although it has separated from the back piece. The spring inside is also still attached to the back. It is an old piece which has one dent in the side where it was obviously bumped on something hard and. Of course lots of dust. The piece of wood that makes up the back is labeled A I Root Company, Medina, Ohio Bee Keeper Supplies. This equipment was found in the family barn. It was used by my father 30 years ago when he was a bee keeper. Has been in storage ever since that time. The spur wire embedder is used to secure a thin layer of foundation wax into each timber frame. At least four strands of bee wire are threaded across the frame. Then the frame was laid flat, with the wires on top of a layer of foundation wax. The embedder is then used to push the wire into the wax. Frame Grip. This listing is for 4 bee keeper's gloves. There are 3 right hand gloves made by Best. There is only 1 left handed glove and it has no name on it. These look to be in good used condition. There are 2 spots of staining on 2 of the gloves. There is some wear on the palms of the gloves. The elastic at the top of the cotton material where it goes over your arms should be replaced. It looks to be worn out from age and not use. Completely usable if using with a full suit. The cotton arm part is heavy cloth. Stiff like jean material. I don't see any seam separation anywhere. These are 10 antique/ vintage wooden frames found in a farmer's barn. Foundation frames are typically wired and covered with a thin sheet of beeswax that honey bees use as a foundation to start making honeycombs that they fill with honey. All ten of these are 17 3/4 inches tall and 6 1/4 inches wide and would fit in a medium super. One of these frames is stamped with the words. ROOT TRIPLE LOCK CORNER FRAME. These old frames are not in bad condition. Most could use some extra strength and sanitization if you plan on using them for bees. There are still traces of honeycomb on these and they aren't completely clean. I rinsed the dust off and gave them a once over with soapy water but that's all I did to clean them. I fixed up 10 of these old frames and put them in my hive and they ... moreare holding up pretty well but are not the strongest frames in the world. I am using them for brood- I don't know if these would hold up during the rigors of extraction. I didn't see any parts missing on this group of frames. And almost all of the pegs that hold the foundation in place are still there. One frame has a crack. The wood has a nice patina from age and beeswax and I also think that these would be fun to use for crafts. Maybe picture frames as a gift for your favorite beekeeper? Thanks for looking!

These is an antique/ vintage nuc bee hive found in a farmer's barn. Small nuc hives are often used for splitting colonies. Raising new colonies, rearing queens, or catching small swarms. This comes with the hive body, inner cover, and outer cover. This old hive not in bad condition. It could use some extra glue and nails and sanitization if you plan on using it for bees. It's not completely clean. I rinsed the dust off and gave everything a once over with soapy water but that's all I did to clean it. The hive body is nice and solid. There are still some nails sticking out on the outside. So please be careful when you open the package. I think someone used to hang their tools from these, would be my guess. The inner cover is a little bit flimsy but still intact. The outer cover ... morecould us some work. It needs some nails and glue and one of the framing boards has a crack(I tried to take a photo of this) The roofing on here is starting to peel up around the edges. The hive body measures 22 inches long including the landing area. The box itself is 20 inches long. It's 8 inches wide. The hole hive when assembled including outer cover is about 12 1/2 inches high. The wood on this set has a nice patina from age and beeswax and I also think that this would be fun to use for crafts. Maybe a planter as a gift for your favorite beekeeper? VERY OLD DADANT& SONS BEE SMOKER for Bee-keeping Beautiful vintage condition. The person who gave this to me said it was from 1923. Still works! Heat shield. Bellows, hinge and internal coal area ~ all in fine condition. Lovely just as a"primitive" piece for display. This one has a grained. Green"leather" bellows that is very unique. This machine is a finger joint making dado saw used specifically for making beehive boxes. The boxes shown in the pictures were made using this very saw. It was manufactured by Carl E. Johnson Co. of Lincoln Park Michigan. It works great and can be seen in person in Marysville Ohio. I can have it delivered anywhere in the US for $750 or less. It has a 220 volt motor on it and the sawdust goes into the bottom under the seat. There is a fitting to hook a dust collector to it or you can open the end of the box and'rake' the saw dust out every so often. Cash. Check any form of payment is accepted. Dadant Hat/veil combo with polyester/cotton zipper jacket featuring front zipper with elastic cuffs and waist. XL. Zippered chest pocket and 2 lower front pockets with Velcro closures. Easy to zip on and off. Comfortable hat/veil fits all with spring steel band rings to keep the veil out away from head and hat flips back when unzipped. This vintage honey extraction barrel is in as found condition. This came from a great pre civil war farm. This is pre 1940s the owner said he bought this in the 1940s used. This honey extraction would have probably costed about $200.00- 250.00 brand new a long time ago. They still make these today and use these. You could probably make your own cap for the bottom spout. You could put a plastic cap or metal. Whatever your mind desires. I was told that this was in working condition from the owner. He was a bee farmer and used to use this a lot. I could not seem to get it to work right. I should have taken a lesson. Thank you!

Ok. Let me start out by saying that the only thing I know about bees, is I scream like a girl when one gets in the car. That being said, these are an estate sale find. One is a Woodman Bee-Ware smoker. The bellow are in good shape, and from what I can tell, it works. Evidently, they made these things forever, so I really don't know the exact age, but from the'patina' it was well used. It has light surface rust. The other one. I don't know. I can find no identification and it's covered in rust, but has no holes One side is dented. Let the pics do the talking. Anywho. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

this little recipe book was published in 1915 by the A.I. Root Co. of Medina Ohio. It is full of honey recipes. It's 4.75" x 6.5" and is 62 pages of recipes with ads for honey products in the back. Its cover is bent and stained and the pages are turning brown and have some bent corners.
