This is a wonderful machine. It will sew leather and denim and canvas. It is all steel and very heavy duty. It has been tested and works and the light works as well. The only flaw I could find with the machine is that the wiring going to the light is starting to crack slightly and there is some small slight discoloration on the matte finish of the machine in a couple spots. 1950's vintage sewing machine made in Germany. This machine is all metal and nothing like the new sewing machines made today. It is very heavy(close to 45 pounds) It includes the original case enclosure pictured. I will start out by saying that I am no expert on the subject of sewing machines. This sewing machine was originally owned by my grandmother. Per a letter she left with this sewing machine. It was originally purchased in 1955. As to the condition of this machine. It is all based on my observations and should not be considered professional. I did a thorough look at the exterior and interior mechanisms of this machine. From my observations I can note the following: 1. The sewing machines powers on perfectly and the motor spins without issue. 2. I do not have the original sewing ... moremachine belt(or could not fit the one currently with it) but I was able to manually turn the pulley and all the mechanisms of the sewing machine seemed to move smoothly and without problems. 3. The sewing machine has a light fixture that has been tested and working. 4. Given the age. I believe this machine is in fairly good condition cosmetically. I will note that there is evidence of some paint peal on the machine on the bottom of it. I believe this can be easily repainted to look like new. Bearing the Ser. No. AE868618. This SINGER 31-15 dates sometime between 1935- 1938. It is in great shape for it's age and functions perfect all around. Very shinny and clean has been lubricated and checked out at it's top speed. It has been set to sew very thick materials like leather and canvass and of course will do thinner materials. The pictured sample is slightly over 1/4" and I'm very sure can do thicker. 69 bonded nylon has been used. White on the top and black in the bobbin to show the perfect balanced stitch. Very thight, no plays or loose components. BOBBINS AND NEEDLES WILL BE INCLUDED. No paint has been used at all. All questionable parts has been changed for new ones. RACE. Vintage Model GC15-1 industrial sewing machine made by Shanghai Industrial Sewing Machine Factory. This company was founded in 1965. And is now part of the SGSB Group. See. They used the Shanghai Industrial Sewing Machine Factory name from 1965 to 1992. So I assume this machine was made in that timeframe. The company still manufactures sewing machines under the brand name Shanggong. This this is built like a tank. It looks like it has been used quite a bit. But seems to be in good shape. The motor starts when you push the ON button and the clutch doesn't engage at all until you depress the foot pedal. When the foot pedal is depressed, the needle goes up and down and feed teeth go back and forth. The thigh-pad lever raises the foot when activated. The black lever in the front right of the ... moremachine casting seems to affect the speed of the feed teeth. The bobbin winder spins when the wheel is pressed against the belt. The table is in good shape and rolls easily on the casters. Additionally. There are some bobbins and other small parts as shown. I don't know much more about it than this. I have a Singer 375B1 Button Tacker for Sale. The machine is very clean and shows no wear and tear. Machine has very little use. When I purchased the machine there was no lint anywhere. Bobbins were completely free of any lint. The motor had no wear on it and the belt was clean. The foot pedal looks new. I have only used it a couple of times.
