This is a Ludlum model 2A that is refurbished by me. All broken and worn out components have been replaced. It has been calibrated to a cesium-137 source. The unit works great and would make a great Geiger counter for prospecting or doomsday prepping. The probe that comes with it is from a radiac pdr 27 Geiger counter. Up for sale is this vintage 50's Model 111B De Luxe Scintillator by Precision Radiation Instruments. INC Meter comes with original leather case. The instrument has some fading on handle from use and few minor scratches on the body but in overall good condition for it's age. The leather case is not in very good shape, it has a ripped handle and a break on the top part where it closes. No testing was done on this item, not sure if or how it works. The operator's manual is missing but I have included a link to it for your info below. The Model 11IB consists of two separate parts. Which are connected by a cable. One portion of the instrument contains most of the electronic components and the detecting element. This portion is the"probe. I purchased this at an estate sale and was told by the son who was running the sale that it was his dad's favorite toy and that it was originally purchased by him back in 1954. The geiger counter was made by Precision Radiation Instruments Inc. of Los Angeles California and is marked' Professional Model 107B. The darn thing has the original price tag of $ 139.50 still attached to the face as seen in picture 4. Even the original pamphlet shows the same price in photo 5. Included is a bunch of old paperwork from the Division of Mines again back in 1954. Does it work? Well. I took pictures of the insides and it looks to be pretty clean and even the old batteries still look good with the exception of the top of one of them in photo 8 but I could not get it to fire up. 1 X1" NAI(T1) scintillation crystal salvaged from a Ludlum probe in good usable condition tested working very well. There is a slight separation of the crystal from the face glass that doesn't degrade it enough to worry about the light still comes through it just doesn't look perfect. When removed several years ago I took a photo and compared to today there has been ne degrading it is stable and the crystal is clear with no yellowing.

This is an Ludlum Model 16 with 44-9 Pancake probe in good working condition. This unit is a step up from a Model 2 or Model 3 and contains additional front panel settings for High Voltage. Threshhold, Window, and a Window IN/OUT toggle switch.The unit may be used as a standard ratemeter like the Model 2 or Model 3 by setting the"Window IN/OUT" switch to"OUT" This unit can be used with any type of detector probe and is ideal for use with a scintillator. The high voltage is adjustable from 200 volts to 2.5Kv. This unit has four ranges: X1. X10, X100, and X1000. Note: The meter dial does not have a white spot as seen in the photo. Thomas& Nielsen WL Meter for Radon Detection with Filters and Flowmeter Mouse over the photos to see whats happening. I've tried them all and this one is one of the best. It uses an pump to move air through an inlet at 1L/min to a filter holder that traps the Radon daughter products. After 30 minutes from a start the alphas from the first daughter and others thereafter start showing up and are counted for up to 24 hours. It's run times can be set to.5. 1, 2, 4, 8, 24 hours then it stops counting. The photo with the 1377 reading is 24 hours in my basement which has an unreasonable amount of ore in it. Even so that reading is just a little above acceptable limits since the basement is well ventilated. The detector is solid state. There are enough extra filters to do 90 residences, ... morean AC wall wart, a flowmeter to measure air flow which is adjustable and a nice carrying case. This item is in like new condition. Eberline E-140N serial number 1952 with HP-210AL(Pancake style) Geiger-Mueller(GM) probe and built-in SK-1 speaker. This unit is in good condition and was used sparely last 12 years. This is the industry standard for measuring radiation contamination and will work for you in most any application including personal monitoring after a nuclear event. The meter and probe both have BNC connectors. The SK-1 speaker lets you survey quickly and tell by sound when you pass an elevated radiation area. When you hear the clicks go faster. Slow down and let the meter stabilize to determine the reading. You don't need a speaker to use this meter and probe but it makes surveying more efficient. There is a HP-210 held on by the Probe clip. This probe is a"Pancake Style GM detector and is the industry ... morestandard for performing radiation surveys. This way everyone has the same detection efficiency. You cannot adjust the high voltage on these meters, they will only drive GM probes. The Eberline Model RO-2 is a portable air ion chamber radiation survey instrument. The RO-2 was the standard in the industry for measuring beta. Gamma and x-rays. The RO-2 instruments is used but in fair condition. The instrument zeros. But needs to be calibrated. The instrument has some minor scratches and the slide is in good condition.
