This auction is for a vintage Fiesta 9 1/2 inch dish presented in the Radioactive Red color. Made by the Homer Laughlin Company. The dishes get their unique color by using naturally occurring Uranium compounds in the glaze.the result is a bright orange color as well as some residual radio-activity. This dish can be used as a geiger check source to allow safe checking and operations of a Geiger counter or Scintillator system. Measuring the activity on a calibrated CDV-700 Geiger Counter using a pancake style probe, the total activity was at or above 29 KCPM combined alpha/beta/gamma. The majority of activity is in the form of Beta with a small Alpha component and a very small gamma count. This particular dish is about average in activity for FiestaWare items and dishes, which usually read right ... morearound 27-29K. Pancake probes are more sensitive than a standard"Pickle" or"Hot Dog" style of probe, so your readings could be more or less than the readings I found, depending on the sensitivity of your probe. Pickle probes typically are about half as sensitive as a pancake probe and won't detect Alpha. The dish itself is in good condition with average utensil scratching or other wear marks. There are several kiln marks on the back of the dish as well as some thin glaze spots, which are considered"factory" issues. The pictures are from the actual dish being auctioned. The front and back of the dish seem to be about equal in activity, although the backside of this dish reads about 1000 CPM higher than the front. The dish has a much larger surface area compared to the smaller 6 inch dishes, so the surface emission area is much larger. Here is the perfect item you've been looking for for your bomb/zombie shelter. I am not sure if the items works. If I had to guess, I would say that it does work. It was found in the basement of a school in Detroit Michigan along with another, slightly newer one. I've listed the other one also, and that one does work. I don't think either of them were ever used and the boxes are even in good shape, no water damage or anything. I t runs on 1"D" battery and 2- 22-1/2 volt miniature hearing aid batteries according to the instruction booklet and I do not have any hearing aid batteries. It does seem to be in great condition. Very clean, especially the inside, no corrosion or anything else. 2 nice large 5" wide by 4 1/8" high meter face salvaged from NMC nuclear facility radiation monitor alarm system 0-1 milliamp full scale. These are good quality meters with GLASS not plastic faces in close to mint condition. The same company that made most of the movements/ meters for Ludlum produced these and the movement is the same 0-1 mA full scale. The movement would work in most of the Ludlum meters but the pointer is longer and would have to be shortened and rebalanced. Tested against a Fluke bench meter both are in good condition and do not stick or hang up they also have good balanced movements. Requires 2 3/4" mounting hole.

Sorry about the bad pictures. The shine on the Raycounter didn't mesh up with my cheap digital camera. Unknown working condition. Made in Detroit by Radioactive Products. Inc, in the years after World War 2. There are two large scratches on the front, but the probe is very shiny, no paint chipping off, no real wear at all besides on the bare steel screws, and even then it is just light patina. I think the pictures(blurry as they are) really speak for themselves. You aren't going to see another one of these pop up for awhile, I can guarantee it. I am offering a very nice Anton(OCD) Office of Civil Defense Geiger Counter w/ wand type sensor with a reach of about 42” It has the“CD” sticker under the certificate of calibration, which is dated 1986. It comes with a nice looking headset that has the screw-type connector and about 36” lead wire. I have no batteries to test this item, however, it actually appears to have never had batteries installed even though it may have to have had them to be calibrated at least once. Very clean throughout with no damage other than very minor paint chips on wear points. The manual with it is# FG-E-5.9, April 1963. It has 41 numbered pages in VGC and seem to be tightly stapled, but the cover has some scuffing, especially on the spine and the staples are rusty. This No reserve auction is for a Detectron Model G-7 or DG-7. Detectron manufactured radiation and geiger counters in the late 40's and 50's in Hollywood. California. I say Model G-7 because that is what the face says. I believe that one of the letters has been rubbed off over the years because my research does not show a Model G-7 in their catalog. Only a DG-7, and it resembles the piece that I have. It has a leather case that goes with it and it all looks complete. Not sure if it works or not. Please look closely at the pics and feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them.

This is an incomplete Eberline BC-4 beta scaler/ counter missing the sample drawer. Pancake detector, top cover, and one rear rubber foot. I set this aside for a future project and never got a round tuit the scaler part seems to work but the far left digit is not lighting but counts ok. I tacked on a power cable and fed it out a hole in the back not having an older cord to fit also a BNC connector on front to connect an external probe. I am including five extra led readout digits that I put aside for it. There is also a fixed regulated 900 volt power supply included which does work ok. This is a fix up or parts experiment as is unit.

Up for auction is a SmartION 2140R ion chamber. This unit is in very good shape. The unit measures background accurately and also responds to sources as seen in the pics. There is also a barcode reader that allows the user to log the reading at set locations. I have not used this barcode reader so it's functionality is unknown. The back-light works perfectly. There is also an alarm feature that allows the user to set a specific limit that the detector will alarm out at to alert the user. Which also works. There is a sliding shield that allows the user to choose between whether gamma only or gamma+beta particles will be detected. This shield can be seen in the photos opened and closed. There is an indicator on the meter face that shows whether only gamma or gamma+beta are being detected. ... moreBatteries will be included. This unit new is over $4k. This is a Ludlum model 12 radiation rate meter with: an Eberline HP-270 energy compensated GM detector. A Ludlum"C to C" cable. an adapter. C to BNC. It powers up. Responds to a check source, and there is no corrosion in the battery compartment. It has definitely been used. Some paint has been scraped off. And there is an appreciable amount of adhesive on the device. The cable works. But no one should consider a second hand cable to be reliable or as durable as a new one. The HP-270 has a BNC connector. The adapter will allow you to use it with a standard Ludlum"C to C" cable. NMGRT will be added if it is shipped to an address in New Mexico. Or is picked up.
