The company has a service bulletin to replace the motors with a new model. This motor was fully functional when removed. They weight about 18 pounds so shipping will be calculated on the weight. ARO 7538-A Air motor with bracket(used) This little air motor and bracket were removed from a machine that we had purchased for other parts which we had needed for the repair of a different type of machine we were working on several years ago. We had stored this little air motor in a dry location wrapped in an oily rag to protect it. Storage has not harmed this air motor. We have wiped the oil residue off of this item. This motor shaft turns with some torque required. Because there obviously is a gear train inside of it. When we turned the shaft we could hear the sound of what seems to be the vanes inside this air motor. When we turned this motor shaft while holding our finger over the ports. There was either a partial vacuum drawn or some pressure which was developed depending upon the direction ... moreof rotation. This held true both for the air supply port as well as the air exhaust port. We did not connect this to an air line to test it in actual operation. The supply port looks to be 1/8" pipe thread and the exhaust port looks to be 1/4" pipe thread. The exhaust port had been connected through an air hose to a common large muffler which had also served other pneumatic actuators on this machine. We did notice that the mounting bracket. Which is included with this item, has left hand threads. There is a small shaft key which we did not remove from the air motor shaft after we removed the previously installed flexible coupling which is not included with this item.
