Lot of 1: THE FRANKLIN VETERINARY ROTARY TATTOO OUTFIT” VG+++. This very large hand held unit is made by the O.M. Franklin Serum Company from Denver. Colorado. The instrument is 11 inches long and 5 inches wide at the handles. It is made of steel and the head of the instrument has four rows of numbers and zero through 9 on each roller to set in any number configuration of 4 numbers. The roller head of this instrument has the O.M. Franklin Trade Mark embossed in the steel. The configuration of the four roller heads are changed with a finger roller wheel at the back of the tattoo head. The glass ink jar has contents but they have dried up. It held two ounces of tattoo ink at one time. It also has the original tattoo ink label. Ink was placed on the rubber insert on the head of the unit and placed ... moreon the ear flap of the animal and closed tightly to penetrate the ear flap and create a permanent tattoo on the ear. This instrument appears to have never been used. I would date this item to the period beginning in 1930 to the 1950s. Original sturdy and heavy cardboard box. Instrument, tattoo blocks, and tattoo ink all in original condition. You will not find a veterinary collectible this complete and unused. Elastrator• This is an old Elastrator steel tool for castrating. Docking and dehorning cattle, lambs, goats, etc. Ick. What's left of the box says it is from J.F. Wilson Associates of Davis, California. The instruction booklet is in terrible shape, but it does show pictures of the tool being used on little lambs and calves. The tool is 9 1/2" long down each handle and 4" across the handles. You squeeze the handle together to retract the rounded prongs at the end. Condition is varied. This bid is for 5 vintage farm animal tools all in good as found used condition. all for one bid. Included are 3 calf weiners. These were put in the calf nose and when the calf tried to get milk from the mother they would poke her and then she would kick the calf. Eventually the calf would get the message. The other tow are for putting in a cow. Bull or hogs nose so you can lead them around. Winner pays shipping.

Tool is intact and is in good. Usable condition. It has been cleaned to bare metal, the pivot lubricated, and a light coat of WD-40 applied to retard flash rusting. Measures 8" long end to end and has a strong spring between the handles. The"V" shaped cutter is about 1/2" long on each side and operates on a brass anvil in the other jaw. Logo is fairly clear.
