Up for auction is a STONE MFG& SUPPLY CO. DOG EAR TATTOO KIT SMALL ANIMAL GOAT. This kit is in good used condition and comes with tattoo plyers. Letters A-Z and numbers 0-9; 1 of each, size 5/16. It looks like the pliers hold 5 letters/numbers at a time. There is also an instruction sheet and 2 small bottles of black tattoo ink. The ink is in solid form and looks to me like it has dried out. Maybe it is supposed to be that way but as I don't know, I am including it just in case. All comes in a metal carry box which is in fair condition; latch does not always latch and stay closed properly and there is some label residue on the top. Keep in mind because they do run fast, blades heat up real fast so it is good to have several sets of blades to switch back and forth between so you don't risk burning any skin if blades get too hot. I use Tri-Flow Spray which works wonderful to keep blades cooler and sharper much longer. These are great for any size animal from cat to the largest horse and are just loaded with power. On the belief that my dog might have an bacterial overgrowth I commenced on a 6 week course of Tylan. The gold standard for such conditions on the EPI forums and the like. There was no difference in his symptoms but because it's an antibiotic I stayed the course anyway. Now I am left with a more than half-full container of Tylan. The container contains approximately 57 grams of Tylan from the 100 grams originally in the container. The container was opened ca. 3 months ago and doses were measured out with a teaspoon. The expiration date on the container is 11/2015 and the container has been stored according to the manufacturer's requirements. A good deal for someone needing Tylan. This vintage set by Jersey Bulletin is in a wooden box that measures 11.25” L x 3.5” W x 2.75” T. Inside the lid you will find the directions and they are very clear to read but have a little water damage. In the bottom of the box is the marker. Figures and ink. The ink has dried up and is no longer good but I wanted to make sure this kit was complete so I did not remove anything. The little red box holds the extra numbers and letters. This is an old 8" long marking tool that came from a farm. I wasn't sure what it was. But according the the patent number it is a Stone Livestock Marking Tool. No where on the tool does it say Stone, however. The patent date is from 1946. All the numbers are present, but the only letter is the letter F. 6 and 9 are interchangeable) The tool works fine.2411944 is the patent number. This Nebraska Farmer Magazine of August 29. 1946, Vol 78-No.18 contains 20 pages in excellent condition. It features Livestock and even includes notice of a Jersey Cow Sale of Paul Rolfsmeier's on p. 17. It is an interesting example of tthe optimism that people had in Nebraska back in the heart of the drought and depression. There is an interesting article on Jules Sandoz and his Fruit Growing in western Nebraska. It is a visit back in history.
