For a short time I shifted from being a heavy equipment field mechanic to being a service director at a construction equipment dealership. I had this old Switzer turbo kicking around so I tore it down. Glass beaded most of the parts and painted Ford Blue and Red. I wanted something a bit offbeat to have on my desk as a conversation piece. The turbo is quite sound having come off a running engine that was replaced with a new BSD444T Ford crate engine. If you are looking for a complete remanufactured 4BTA. Here is your chance. Save yourself a lot of time and research and buy this one. I originally bought this engine off EBAY a year or so ago. I intended to build it to go in a Case Skid Steer that I own that currently has a gas engine in it. Sounded great at the time, but somewhere along the way I figured out that I should have just bought a skid steer that was already a diesel. If I put this engine in the old case 1845, I will never get my money back and actually, the engine is worth more than the machine. As a result, I have decided just to try to sell the engine. It has all the pulleys and tensioners and a clutch fan that is not pictured. The engine was professionally built and BALANCED by Chadwick Engine Builders in Leland, NC. The pistons, rings, valves, rod bearings, main bearings, seals, and oil pump are all brand new, and I have attached the receipt for the engine components. The aftercooler was cleaned and pressure tested by Town and Country Radiator in Lumberton, NC. The starter and alternator are BRAND NEW from Lumberton Auto Electric. The turbo has been disasembled, cleaned and has new bearings and seals installed. All the rest of the parts were painstakingly dissassembled and cleaned by me. The engine was timed and test cranked by Smith Diesel in Delco, NC. I have a lot of time and money in this engine. This engine is rated at just over 100HP with the pump and turbo. Up for auction is a 3208 Cat Diesel skid mounted motor package with a Twin Disc Drive. A large PTO and hydraulics. 190 HP at 2,800rpm. Non turbo with only 935.5 hours. The unit was the power source for a large military airfield runway blast sweeper and rotary broom. Manufactured by MB Company Inc. 1987. Unit is mounted on a large steel skid 7' wide x 10' long x 80" tall to top of air intake. This unit would be ideal to power up many types of Commercial equipment from dredge pumps to generators and everything in between. This is a used Deutz diesel engine model BF6L913. It is a good running takeout from a large mining company with good maintenance procedures.The hour meter on the panel showed 3044 but we have no way of guaranteeing this.We started and ran the engine and it sounds good with plenty of power.It had good oil pressure as well.Includes the starter and alternator as shown.The engine is rated at 152 h.p. 2300 rpm.The lifting eyes shown in the photos are not included in the sale.The engine will be secured and strapped to a heavy pallet for shipping.We can load the engine on a truck for free but the buyer is responsible for arranging the pick up and costs for freight from Douglas.
