We used this machine to remove at least 7 coats of paint off of our 1897 Victorian. It let us remove paint to the bare wood very easily. I'm including 7 extra bits which gives you 6 fresh blades for each bit. I'll also include the 10 foot exhaust vacuum hose. This great sander is practically new. Has been sitting in the box on a shelf most of it's life. I'm guessing it's easily under two hours of use total and that was sanding down some doors after a change in carpeting. In excellent condition as can be seen by the pictures and in perfect working order. There is a new belt that comes with and it and two partially used belts. The bag functions as it should and is in fine condition. You can see what I paid for the sander in one of the pictures. The paperwork or manual is also in the box. There is much detail to see. This sander. Known by some as the"Locomotive Style" is a classic workhorse and was built in Syracuse, NY. It has no issues and runs perfectly. There is full power and very little sparking at the brushes. It has a new Porter-Cable grounded power cord and a new cork and metal platen. The front wheel needle bearings were cleaned and greased. The oil was changed and filled to the proper level. It's chain drive was cleaned and re-greased. The switch clicks right on and can stay on with the press of a button. Built by Sears in 1950 this work horse will give you excellet results built in 1950. These tools have a"spark" which is common in tools of this erra when ran, the cord has been changed and the side where the belt has ran up against has been repaired. this item is used. I have done my best to make this a good working belt sander once again. Use caution with power tools. takes a larger bel which will hgave to be custom ordered thru Woodworkers Supply, unless you can make your own, the rubber lining on the wheels does have sign of use and may need some adjustment and or relining. This is in nice used condition. I think I described this right based a lot on the information on it. I can't find anything else like it. The whole thing is 8 1/4" long and the sanding bit is 1 1/2" wide. I was told it worked good the last time it was used and thats about all I know about it so please check out all the pictures.

Original Sterling model 1000 from the 1940's or so before Porter Cable bought them and changed the name to a Porter Cable Speedmatic. Runs good.Looks good. It had coarse sandpaper on it when I found it at an estate sale and I sanded some with it and it does a nice job. I couldn't figure out how to remove the sandpaper so just tore it off so i could show the condition of the pad. Power cord has a little bit of age cracking but not bad. Switch works good and it really vibrates nice. It is heavy enough that the sander does the work. Motor sounds good and runs strong. The drive roller does spin like it should and the other roller is free. There is a chip out of the front handle and the wiring needs something done with it as the outer layer of insulation is really bad at places. It should be replaced but at the very least it needs lots of taping with electrical tape. It should also be oiled before you use it as it is straight from an estate. The dust bag has some holes in it. Switch works good. The dark spots you see are some hardened grease that needs cleaned off.
