Up for auction is a water electrolysis unit that was purchased as part of an estate auction. It is being sold as-is and all sales are final. From what we know about this unit. It was used strictly to convert water into hydrogen/HHO mixture. By the looks of it, it was used very little. It appears to be a very high quality unit and is of stainless steel construction. We do not have any data on it, but it appears to have been custom made. We filled the unit with water and applied 12 volts to it for testing. It appeared to be producing gas at that point. This tank was briefly used in an experimental hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. The vehicle has been stored in a University basement since about late 2007-2008. The tank is in very good condition. This is a Type 4 tank rated for 250 Bar = 3600 psi. It measures 18” in diameter and 51” long including the valve on the end. This includes the mounting brackets shown in the pictures as well as a high pressure transducer. The tank is due for inspection and re-certification in 2015. Up for auction is a gaseous fuel mixture unit that was removed from an experimental internal combustion engine. This is a liquidation item that was part of an estate sale. And is being sold as-is. Liquidation items are NON-RETURNABLE for any reason, and all sales are final. This unit was apparently designed to mix hydrogen/oxygen with air to be burned inside a gasoline engine. This large PEM fuel cell is a module that was made for use in a rack that housed multiple units so that hydrogen and cooling was shared. This module contains four separate fuel cells. I can find very little technical information on the individual modules but from searching on the internet it would appear that they are either 41W or 60W. You could probably call the company(Avista) to obtain the specifications but suffice to say they are rather large as this type of fuel cells go. These are hydrogen-air cells which means that they obtain the required oxygen from the air. Hydrogen-air cells can be run on oxygen for added efficiency but it is much easier to simply use air. The air that provides oxygen is also used to cool the cell and take away excess water vapour, the visible metal plate is covering ... morethe duct that channels air through the body and over the membrane, there are vents visible at either end of the module. To use the fuel cell you will need hydrogen gas. An easy gas to obtain by electrolysis or from any bottle supplier. You will also need some sort of air flow through the module, a blower fan would do nicely. As it is, each end of the module has two cells wired in series which will produce about 1.2-1.4 volts, all in series it will be about 2.6V which can be used directly or stepped up using a boost module to get higher voltages. Easy to disassemble and clean. If you want it as parts then the elements could even be re-purposed, there is a fair amount of platinum and other precious metals in there too. The case is very robust, there are many small springs that provide strong and even compression over the membranes. Dimensions are 43mm x 171mm x 267mm and weight is a little under 1.5kg. Appleseed Biodiesel Reactor Processor. This system was built by me after receiving training from Chris Powers in Houston at a hand-on weekend workshop. It was used by me and a partner in 2010-2011 using waste vegetable oil as a feedstock. If you're unfamiliar with this process. The byproduct is glycerin. Making biodiesel is easy, but getting the cost down when dealing with acidic feedstock is a greater technical challenge that is, in my opinion, well overcome with this system. This is a complete Clean Burn J Pump Assembly for a Waste Oil Heater. It is in good condition. This pump was used in my house and never gave me any problem. These parts were used on a 300 D Mercedes and are in working condition. One is an in-line electric 12 volt fuel heater and the other is a heat exchanger which uses fluid from the radiator. Together they do a great job of heating the WVO. I paid $125 for the 12 volt heater and $95 for the heat exchanger.
