Once upon a time I thought I could hang drywall. It was about four years ago now and with a boyish twinkle in my eyes and a skip in my work-booted step I set out to build a house. I had built large and small barns. A garage, and numerous concrete structures before so I was very confident. Thus my project began. I framed the house with no problem. I roofed it, I plumbed it, I wired it- all to the delightful compliments of the town building and electrical inspectors. Then it came time to hang the'rock. About 90 sheets and two stories later, I will admit that I am wrong and I will forever have a fear, hatred, and disgusted memory of the task. It all started when I came over budget framing my house. How hard can sheet-rocking the place be? I asked myself. I started having the sheets of drywall ... moreand pails of mud delivered and thus began my journey of misery, strife, and uneven lumpy seams. I had problems that I thought were solvable at first. Like driving the screws all the way through the board because it's hard to balance a 4x8 panel with one hand and keep the screw from coming off the bit of the drill with the other. I was too stubborn to rent a lift, you see. I bought this Rigid model R6790 belt fed beauty at Home Depot to remedy that. Now I could sink screws so fast that I could completely miss the stud nine times and it didn't slow me down! No problem, I'll just back them out.or sink them below the surface with the hammer. Then came taping. Again. This can't be so difficult, can it? Some of the gaps between the panels were wide enough that I knew I would need some extra ability to hold mud so I started putting up mesh tape(mostly unused roll included in auction) Little did I know that this would eventually make every single joint in the place crack, some badly enough to need Spackle years down the road. Finally came the corners. Oh the corners. See. I'm a guy who likes his tools so I figured like anything, if a task is hard it's because I don't have the right tool. Thus I purchased

This is a Porter Cable Model 7399 Drywall Cutout tool. Since I can find only a Porter Cable Model 7499 on the web. I guess the 7399 has been replaced. It is in very good condition, sounds good, shows some cosmetic signs of use, collet works OK, power switch works OK, cordset is in very good condition. It currently has a 1/4" Zip Bit. I don't see why this tool couldn't be used as a rotary tool, carving tool, any job that can use a 1/4" bit spinning at 30000 RPM(according to the motor data plate) In fact, the motor data plate calls this a HD(heavy duty) Power Unit. What i have up for action is three Drywall mud or Tile Grout mixing whips with lots of life left in them. Two are the same type of whip. One is 24" tall and the other is 34" tall.
